The 𝘈𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘯 𝘗𝘰𝘬𝘦𝘳 𝘖𝘱𝘦𝘯 is honoured to host the Australian Poker Schedule Fantasy Draft at this years series.

An incredibly enticing and exciting concept, the APS team will be on site with our very own Will Davies on 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟲𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 at 1pm, as players bid for who they believe will carry their team to victory.

With a schedule that is stacked full of massive guarantees and some of the largest buy ins available on the Australian Calendar, there is no doubt that this years series will attract some of the best players on offer, and we cannot wait to see how these teams shape up over the course of our two week festival.

Shayne Sim was nominated by The Kite All-Stars as their surprise 1st round draft pick, but they stopped bidding when team Xie Xie put the paddle up with a $15 steal. Shayne has 4M chips, near middle of the pack, chasing the incredible $110K first prize, along with 790 valuable 2K Fantasy points for his team.

Around the tables at APO on Day 4 The Titan 5K, is down to the final 3 players however the the last remaining fantasy players Naj Ajez and Daniel Neilson were eliminated in 6th and 5th respectively, just shy of the money and points, with the event paying Top 3. The undrafted Martin Finger holding around 80% of the chips in play.

Another quick scan of rooms here at Doltone House found no fantasy players remaining in the Six-Max, while Lachlan Crilly seems to be the sole remaining fantasy player in the Bounty Hunter event approaching the money and the points.

Amazingly, Mick is well known on the Sydney poker scene but was left undrafted and a massive 790 points goes unclaimed in the APO 2K Fantasy.

Cooper was nominated as the Banana Benders 2nd round draft pick and was part of a 3-way bidding war with his own Game Theory Optional team, with the gorilla logo in the trademark green Homer Simpson terry towelling bucket hat, as well as the Ambassa Brothers. Banana Benders eventually securing his services for $44 of the $125 salary cap and looks to have been worth every dollar!

The big three events of the Australian Poker Open are of huge importance in the 2K Fantasy. Tons of points available due to a enormous prize pool built from the gigantic field of 1000 entries.

Massive 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻 $𝟮𝟱𝟮,𝟯𝟬𝟬, 𝗮𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝘀 𝗔𝗺𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗶𝘆𝗮𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗶𝗮𝗺 𝗝𝗲𝗵𝘂’𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗝𝗶𝗻𝘅𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟭𝟭𝟰𝟬𝗽𝘁𝘀 for this result.

Also among the big points getters for the 2K Fantasy were Daniel Neilson second place, Jennifer Cassell 5th, Ehsan Amiri and Shayne Sim with another deep run! 28 players from 55 draftees cashed in the PPC overall.

In other events at APO, the mixed games started yesterday, no points awarded in the High Roller 2K HEROS with the consistent Jarryd Godena undrafted, but well done to Michel Bouskila grabbing some handy points for the Awesome Foursome Plus One with forth place in the $450 HEROS which ran along side it.

𝗧𝗼𝗺 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲 finished a valiant runner-up in the APO $1,500 Heads-Up Championship, and backed it up with a forth place in the $350 Deuce to Seven Single Draw, scoring two cashes and most importantly 118 handy points for Liam, Cooper and Johan’s Game Theory Optional. This is what we love to see, the draftees getting in the mix, trying to score points in absolutely everything.

The $1200 Teams event saw a number of draftees partner up to score valuable points, and is was Travis Endersby 72pts (Team Powerjam) & Dale Marsland (undrafted) that took the points defeating Team Xie Xie’s Gary Lin and Armon Van Wijk with 36pts each.

The other big 2K Fantasy news is that seven draftees have made the final table in the 10K Trojan event with a huge prize pool of $799,000 and more than 2,500 points up for grabs, 893pts up top to go with $250K winners cheque. The 10K Trojan will resume in a couple days time due to the APO Main Event taking priority until then.

𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝟭𝟭 – 𝟮𝗞 𝗙𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗦𝗬 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘

𝗞𝗮𝗵𝗹𝗲 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘀 is on fire, which is fantastic news for the 𝗔𝗺𝗯𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 who were able to draft him for a bargain price of $8 at the APO 2K Fantasy auction.

𝗔𝗺𝗯𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 owners 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗿𝘆 and 𝗗𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗚𝘂𝗲́𝗿𝗶𝗻 were able to save Kahle as a last round draft pick, and not nominated by any other owners, a master-class in fantasy strategy which is paying dividends, and could even make up for a huge miss-fire when bidding on an absent Renji Mao, which was an audacious bluff by Gary Lin.

𝗞𝗮𝗵𝗹𝗲 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘀 is still in the $10K Trojan event with 6 remaining when it was paused due to Main Event taking priority. and is one of five draftees remaining in the event currently on ice, along with Josh McSwiney, Joe Antar, Weiran Pu and chip leader Noel Jaber.

Meanwhile, Kahle can be currently seen in the final 4 of the APO Main Event, holding the chip lead and dominating the final table on stream. (Check out Australian Poker Open on Facebook). Also on the currently on the final table are Fantasy draftees, Nelson Dong (Jinxed), Romain Morvan (Game Theory Optional), with those already busted Paawan Bansal 5th (Banana Benders) & Chad Awerbuch 7th (Bearded Boozers).

With no other significant cashed for other draftees we remain glued to the APO Main Event to see how this unfolds!

FINAL UPDATE – 𝗜𝗧’𝗦 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥!

𝗝𝗜𝗡𝗫𝗘𝗗 – Co-owned by Fantasy draft debutant 𝗔𝗺𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗶𝘆𝗮𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶 & his good mate 𝗟𝗶𝗮𝗺 𝗝𝗲𝗵𝘂 have destroyed this year’s APO 2K Fantasy astonishingly drafting the winner of both of the 2 largest prize pools on the APO schedule. Johan Lee’s took out the Poker Players Championship earlier last week, and in the early hours of the morning Nelson Dong took first place in the APO Main Event!

Another Fantasy draft first timer Noel Jaber and five mates with Only Trophies Baby have come from the clouds to take second place thanks to dual final table draftees in the 10K Trojan event, and Fantasy Draft pros Bert Perry and Didier Guérin likely to take third place.
