Kahle Burns & Ling Liu take honours of Aussie #1 2025 GPI POY
The GPI Player Of the Year (POY) Leaderboard is calculated from results from each calendar year. Standings are updated weekly with the top 1,000 contenders ranked according to results, with the Leaderboard utilising an augmented version of GPI’s existing ranking formula which disregards aging factors. The GPI PoY scoring limits results to thirteen (13) from January 1 to December 31 by aggregating only the top thirteen scores during the twelve month scoring period. Buy in restrictions, minimum player field restrictions are kept as-is, as. You may notice some events do not earn GPI points, mainly due to field sizes and restricted events eg. Ladies Events, Seniors Events, Teams Events etc.

Kahle Burns #1 GPI Australia 2025
Kahle Burns had a dominating year despite not playing as much volume as we might expect. The Australian All-Time Money List #2 surpassed US14.5M in life-time live tournament earnings. Kahle started 2025 with six big cashes at the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Jeju, South Korea in February/March, then made the trip back home for the Australian Poker Open in Sydney where he finished 3rd in the Main Event. He also flew back across the pond to the WSOP in Las Vegas where he final tabled the $10K 8-Game, followed up with several cashes in his home state of Victoria including the Crown Poker Series Main Event in August.

The Australian Ladies 2025 GPI POY race went right down to the wire, with Ling Liu narrowly pipping Australia’s full-time professional and 2024’s Australian female GPI POY Jennifer Cassell. Sydney’s Ling Liu had a truly outstanding year making 15 final tables and took down 2 trophies.
